In our group we have Kayla, Rani, Melika.We all love robotics and cant wait to start to harder moves and things with them.
So far- Before march 16
We had to make a robot which took 3 weeks to finish. There were some ups and down along the path but we finally finished. The boys that helped us make our robot (3b group) were particularly good- but us girls learnt quickly too!
March 16
Melika (handler) I had the job of handling today, it was fun. Today was bit different to normal robotic session, we had a challenge this week. We had to make our robot run foward exactly to a line that was drawn on the floor. It was a hard challenge as we were not informed of how long it was or how many second it would take to get from one line to the other exactly and we only had 3 turns of practice in the line but our group at the end sure found out how to gt it right.
My job as a handler was fun as i got to start it and carry it. I think this robortic session went well.
Rani (recoder) I had the job of the recorder which was hard but fun. Today it was hard to keep up with what Kayla and Melika were doing but it was fun to see what we could do with a robot and a computer. Today we had to make the robot aka RMK move forward in a line and to try not to hit the little man at the end of the line! It was hard and it took 2 turns and we till haven't got it right but we have 1 more turn at it in our next session. I hope we get it right!
Kayla(Programer) !!! I had to program everthing into the robot. In our session Miss Burns thought of a fantastic idea. we had to try and get the our robot to go from one line to another. We only had three trys. It was soooo much fun!!!!!

(Kayla Was not there)But apparently it was heaps of fun!!!!
Rani: Today I was the progammer. It was heaps fun but very hard. Melika and I had to make the robot go from one line to the other and than put it in revers and make it dance! It SOOO MUCH FUN!!!

Today it was fun being a recorder. It was good to observe my group. Today we had a bigger challenge then last week, today we had to make our robot do the pedestrian challenge then we had to make our robort reverse then dance in the middle of the square that had been drawn. Unfortunaltly our robort did not go very succesfuly as our robort keft going diogonaly and went out of the square. But at the end we were very proud that we tried.
I had lots fun today!!!!
March 30
Rani: Today I was the handler, but I couldn't hold the robot because I had a sore arm. Today we had a go at progamming how to do some dance moves for our robot. Fristly, Kayal, Melika and I had a sheet and we had to complet the frist task and it was to do a 360 turn. WE tried many things. When we finally finished we had to show the teacher and we had points, if it was done perefetly we got a 5 if it wasn't as perfetly we got a 4 etc. On our go we got a 5!!!! We were soo happy. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do the next task on Monday.
Kayla: Today we did our first assesment for the robot. We had to make it do a 360 turn and it had to land / finish in the same spot as it started. I was helping Rani today as she had a sore arm. Overall today was lots of fun!
Melika: (Programer) Today was also another awosome session, but today we had to get right ino it because today we had our first assesment to do with the robort. We had to make do a 360 dgree turn on the spot and land in the same position. At first it was very tricky but us girls soon figured out how mae it right. But the most amazing thing is we got 5/5 marks. So us girls were very proud of ourseleves.
April 5th
Rani: (recoder) today we have our session on a tuesday because we are going to Chiantown tomorrow. We had to make our robort do a snake move. It was had but we got there. When we went up to do our grade we got a 4 and a half. It was fun, hard and AWESOME!!\
Kayla: (programer) today we were doing another movement on our sheet, todays was a snake. It was meant to go forward in a snake and then backwards to its original position, but the teachers said that it was a bit hard so you only had to make the robot come forward and mabie a little bit back. Making a sanke movement was hard truning to find the right tools on the computer and stuff but once we did it once or twince it was EASY, we ender up getting a good restult: 4 and a half
Melika:(handler) Today it was fun being the handler but bit tiring as well beause we had to plug the robort, download the info and take the pluge out and carry the robort to the ground to test it out. We did that sevral time to get our snake right but at the end we got a good mark of: 4 0.5. We were very pleased of each other fortring hard.
April 27th
Rani: (programer) Today it was an amazing, hard and fun session. We had to make the robort shimmey. We had lots of thinking to do. But in the end it was our first choice that gave us our grade, 4 and a half. It was AWESWOME!!!
Kayla: (handler) today i was the handler of our groups robot. Today we were doing another movement - shimmy , by this it meant the robot had to move side to side without going to far around and not going forward. It was ok at first, we thought it was doing it right but then we changed some setting and the robot started doing the complet opposite to what we wantted. Finnally we worked it out and we ended up getting a GREAT score of 4 and a half.
Melika (recorder) Today we had to do the shimmy and it was a fun session. It was bit stressing at first as we just could not get it right, but soon with the help of Paddy, Micheal and the teacher we got on the right track. Even through all the stress and confusion we got an unexpected mark of 4 and a half.
4th May
Rani: (Recoder) Today our group did another move with the sencors and arm. At the start it was very easy, but when we showen it Mrs Bruns say we should do a clap in the beginning. We did, but when we showed it the wheels were messing up so Mrs Cooper say we can have another try next week and fix it up. It was VERY fun and easy.
Kayla: ( Programer) Today our group was doing another movement with the sensors and also the arm. I thought it very easy , but then we faced somee problems - We didnt build the light sensor on at the very start . So we told the teacher and she said to build it on in the next few weeks. Tiday was still heaps of FUN
Melika: Today we had an another task to do, we had to use 3 sensors, aparantly we somehow did not have a light sensor which meant we only had 2 sensors to work with, so the teacher said we could have an another go next week with the light sensor.
11 may
Rani : (progammer) Today me and Kayal did a shape . It was easy and fun. we got a 4 on the shape and a 4 on the sencors. it was fun!!!!!!!!! ;)
Kayla: ( Handler) Today was our last day to complet all of the movements on the chart. We were in a rush to get everything done but we still succeded. Melika had gorn Home so there was only the two of us , i think we worked very , very hard as a group. also Melika was not here so we had to do here job. I still think that today I had a BLAST!
18th May
Kayla : Programer - Today was one of the best sessions yet! Today we had to start creatting our dance. Our group choose the song Time Warp, I think that this is a great song for what we are doing because it also it has a good beat, theme and would work with a costume and backrounds. We started about 5 moves, but i am soooooo happy because it is perfect. I think that today was heaps good and our group worked fantasticly together.
Rani: Recorder- Today we started our dance moves (whoooo). Our song is Time Wrap, we choose this song because it has a great theme and the beats are great. It was sssssooooo much fun and we worked hard on this robot.
Melika: Handler- Today was sooooo much fun because we started making our dance. We choose a song called time wrap which i had never heard before but i really like it. We made our robort do some moves today and somehow it turned out to be perfect at the end. Today was fun.
25th may
Melika: recorder- Today we continued on making our dance moves, i think we are going very well, we did have some promblems making it go in a straight line but at the end it looked fine.
Rani: Handler- Today we went on with our dance moves. It was mmuch harder but at the end it look aewsome. I hope we get a grade mark because we are working so hard on it.
Kayla: Programer: Today our group was working on our dance once again, we omly have a few more lessions utill it needs to be finished. Today we faced some problems when we attempted to do a snake - the robot was traveling on an angle not moving in a snake movement. But today we still had a very good lession with all three of us working well together.
1st June
Melika: handler- Today we continued working n our dance moves, we have used up 40 second of the music so far and we hope to do a lot in our next session. We had some trouble making our robort to do the square but at the end it worked out well.
Kayla: Recorder: Our dance is coming alone great , today we added more moves including a dimond/square and other moves as well. Today we achived alot reaching the 40sec mark , hopefully at our next session we can get 1 minute.
Rani: Programmer- Today we kept on working on our dances. I think the dance is going great. It was really fun!
8th June
Rani: handler- Today was so fun! Kayla and I stared working on the costume for the robot, it looks awesome. We fix our square and add more moves and now the dance looks great.We only have 1 more session till we finish! We are going great but we have to get a few more moves to make it the right time.
Kayla: recorder: Today our group got heaps done and it is all looking fabulous! Rani and myself worked on the costum as well as help Melika program all of the moves, Our costume is a little silver dress with love-harts and a cut little glove. Now our group only needs to add about 20 seconds so that it is the right amount of time. I am really excittied and I think that everyone in the group is helping out and putting in 100% .
Melika: Programer- I think that today we got a lot done. Rani and Kayla did a great job working on the costume and at the same type we worked on programing the robert. Now we only need 20 seconds untill we reach the time of 1min. I think we all are doing great We hope to finish next week.
I think robertics has been a great oppotunity for all the year six's. I love robertics.
